Continuing its losing streak for the third straight day, refined soya oil prices fell by another 0.12 per cent to Rs 643.90 per 10 kg in futures trade today as participants engaged in reducing their positions amid tepid demand in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in September shed 80 paise, or 0.12 per cent to Rs 643.90 per 10 kg with an open interest of 27,400 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in October shed 25 paise, or 0.04 per cent to Rs 651.40 per 10 kg in 53,250 lots.
Analysts said trimming of positions by traders amid sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly kept refined soya oil prices down at futures trade.
