Refined soya oil prices were down 0.97 per cent to Rs 566.80 per 10 kg in futures trade today as participants reduced position amid lower demand in the spot market against higher supplies from producing belts.

At National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in far-month November fell by Rs 5.55, or 0.97 per cent to Rs 566.80 per 10 kg with an open interest of 37,270 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in October eased by Rs 4.05, or 0.71 per cent to Rs 569.80 per 10 kg in 80,390 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to slackened demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position on higher supplies from producing regions kept pressure on refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
