Refined soya oil prices edged 0.18 per cent higher to Rs 742.40 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions, driven by pick up in demand in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, the oil for delivery in February rose Rs 1.35, or 0.18 per cent, to Rs 742.40 per 10 kg with an open interest of 31,970 lots.
On similar lines, the oil for delivery in January contracts was trading Rs 1.15, or 0.16 per cent, higher at Rs 741.45 per 10 kg in 18,500 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by traders following upsurge in demand in the physical market against tight stocks on restricted supplies from producing belts led to the rise in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
