Refined soya oil prices were higher by 0.45 per cent to Rs 658.50 per 10 kg in futures trading today as traders enlarged positions, taking positive cues from spot market on pick up in demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in April month rose Rs 2.95, or 0.45 per cent to Rs 658.50 per 10 kg with an open interest of 7020 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in far-month May traded higher by Rs 2, or 0.30 per cent to Rs 667.60 per 10 kg in 82,710 lots.

Analysts said widening of positions by participants on the back of upsurge in demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions mainly led to the rise in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
