Refined soya oil futures gain 0.54% as demand picks up

Amid pick up in domestic demand and restricted supplies from producing regions, refined soya oil prices were up by 0.54 per cent to Rs 640.10 per 10 kg in futures trade today as traders built up fresh positions.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in August rose by Rs 3.45 or 0.54 per cent to Rs 640.10 per 10 kg with an open interest of 1,01,810 lots.

The oil for delivery in July contracts edged up by 65 paise or 0.10 per cent to Rs 631.45 per 10 kg in 3,570 lots.

Analysts said besides pick up in demand in the spot market, tight stocks position on restricted supplies from producing belts mainly influenced rise in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
