Refined soya oil prices advanced by 0.68 per cent to Rs 778 per 10 kg in futures trading today as speculators raised their bets amid soaring spot demand.
Tight stocks position on fall in arrivals from producing regions too fuelled the uptrend, brokers said.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in June advanced by Rs 5.25, or 0.68 per cent to Rs 778 per 10 kg with an open interest of 41,330 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in May contracts gained Rs 3.60, or 0.47 per cent to Rs 768.55 per 10 kg in 28,460 lots.
Analysts said widening of positions by traders following pick up in demand in the physical markets against tight stocks position on restricted supplies from producing belts mainly kept refined soya oil prices higher at futures trade.
