Refined soya oil futures inch higher on firm demand

Refined soya oil prices advanced by 0.09 per cent to Rs 789.40 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators raised bets, tracking a firm trend at spot market on surging demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in May edged higher by 70 paise, or 0.09 per cent, to Rs 789.40 per 10 kg with an open interest of 31,830 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in April contracts was up by 10 paise, or 0.01 per cent, to Rs 782.10 per 10 kg in 54,760 lots.

Analysts said widening of positions by traders following soaring demand in the physical market against tight stocks position on fall in supplies from producing belts, kept refined soya oil prices higher in futures trade.
