Refined soya oil futures remain weak on sluggish demand

September and October contracts lose 0.67% and 0.47% respectively

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Refined soya oil prices fell 0.67 per cent to Rs 617.30 per 10 kg in futures trading today as speculators reduced positions amid sluggish demand in the spot market.

Adequate stocks position in the physical market also put pressure on refined soya oil prices.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in September fell by Rs 4.15, or 0.67 per cent, to Rs 617.30 per 10 kg with an open interest of 77,560 lots.

The October contract traded lower by Rs 2.70, or 0.47 per cent, to Rs 577.90 per 10 kg in 93,730 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators due to sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly kept pressure on refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
