Refined soya oil prices ticked higher by 0.20 per cent to Rs 724.80 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions amid pick up in demand at domestic spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in January 2018 was trading higher by Rs 1.45, or 0.20 per cent to Rs 724.80 per 10 kg with an open interest of 43,500 lots.

On similar lines, the oil for delivery in December month contracts edged up by Rs 1.10, or 0.15 per cent to Rs 713.50 per 10 kg in 8,540 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions built up by traders after upsurge in demand in the physical market against restricted arrivals from producing belts, mainly led to the rise in refined oil prices at futures trade.
