Refined soya oil prices moved up by 0.84 per cent to Rs 601.90 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh position amid pick-up in domestic demand and restricted supplies from producing regions.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in April rose by Rs 5, or 0.84 per cent, to Rs 601.90 per 10 kg with an open interest of 96,515 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in February edged up by Rs 1.30, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 628 per 10 kg in 33,910 lots.
Analysts said apart from pick-up in demand in spot market, restricted supplies from producing belts mainly led to the rise in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
