Amid rising domestic demand and restricted supplies from growing regions, refined soya oil prices were up by 0.91 per cent to Rs 717.30 per 10 kg in futures trade as traders built up fresh positions.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in January 2017 rose by Rs 6.50, or 0.91 per cent, to Rs 717.30 per 10 kg, with an open interest of 34,530 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in December moved up by Rs 6.20, or 0.87 per cent, to Rs 716 per 10 kg in 48,510 lots.

Marketmen said fresh positions created by participants triggered by pick up in demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing belts mainly led to the rise in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
