Refined soya oil prices were down by 0.84 per cent to Rs 637 per 10 kg in futures trade today as participants cut down their positions, driven by easing demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in May month fell by Rs 5.40, or 0.84 per cent to Rs 637 per 10 kg with an open interest of 5,610 lots.

On similar lines, the oil for delivery in far-month June contracts shed Rs 4.55, or 0.69 per cent to Rs 650.90 per 10 kg in 1,23,270 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by traders on the back of low demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly kept refined soya oil prices down at futures trade.
