Refined soya oil prices weakened by 0.16 per cent to Rs 728.70 per 10 kg in futures market today as participants reduced their exposure, taking negative cues from spot market on muted demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in January declined by Rs 1.20, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 728.70 per 10 kg, with an open interest of 30,010 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in February traded lower by 80 paise, or 0.11 per cent, to Rs 718 per 10 kg in 33,300 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by traders amid easing demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position on increased supplies from growing regions, mainly led to the fall in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
