Refined soya oil prices softened by 0.46 per cent to Rs 690.25 per 10 kg in futures trading today as speculators indulged in profits-booking at prevailing higher levels, driven by weak demand in the spot market against sufficient supplies.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in January softened by Rs 3.20, or 0.46 per cent, to Rs 690.25 per 10 kg with an open interest of 50,670 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in February traded lower by Rs 2.55, or 0.37 per cent, to Rs 681.50 per 10 kg in 11,6500 lots.

Analysts said speculators indulged in profit-bookings at prevailing higher levels, driven by weak demand in the spot market against sufficient supplies from producing belt, mainly influenced refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
