Refined soya oil surged by 0.40 per cent to Rs 675.70 per 10 kg in futures trade today amid pick-up in domestic demand against restricted supplies from producing regions.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for November month moved up by Rs 2.70, or 0.40 per cent to Rs 675.70 per 10 kg with an open interest of 12,040 lots.

On similar lines, the oil for delivery in December contracts traded higher by Rs 2.50, or 0.37 per cent, to Rs 676.80 per 10 in 50,840 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by traders due to pick up in demand in the spot market against tight stocks position on restricted supplies from producing regions mainly led to the rise in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
