Refined soya oil prices advanced by 0.16 per cent to Rs 754.90 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators built up positions, driven by rising demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in March rose by Rs 1.20, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 754.90 per 10 kg with an open interest of 32,940 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in April contracts edged up by 65 paise, or 0.09 per cent to Rs 759.50 per 10 kg in 26,710 lots.

Analysts said expanding of positions by traders following rising demand in the physical market against restricted supplies from producing belts kept refined soya oil prices higher in futures trade.
