Refined soya oil gains 0.53% as demand picks up

Traders enlarge positions as restricted arrivals from produding belts support uptrend

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Refined soya oil prices gained 0.53 per cent to Rs 643.80 per 10 kg in futures market today as speculators enlarged positions, driven by pick up in demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in January moved up by Rs 3.40, or 0.53 per cent to Rs 643.80 per 10 kg with an open interest of 56,650 lots.

The February contract traded higher by Rs 3.20, or 0.50 per cent to Rs 645 per 10 kg in 69,695 lots.

Analysts said speculators' enlarged positions on the back of pick up in demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals from producing belts mainly led to the rise in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
