Refused money to buy liquor, man commits suicide

A 24-year-old man allegedly committed suicide this morning after his mother refused to give him money to buy liquor in Mangolpuri area of Outer Delhi, police said.

The deceased was identified as Ranjeet, a resident of K Block.

"He was unemployed and had become an alcoholic of late. He used to have regular tiff with his family over this. Today in the morning when he demanded money from his mother for liquor, she scolded him for asking money for alcohol on festival and left for her job," said a police official.

Ranjeet then went to the first floor of the house where he allegedly hanged himself from the ceiling fan. He was seen by his wife and raised an alarm. He was taken to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital where he was declared brought dead.
 

Police did not find any suicide note from the possession of the deceased. Postmortem of the deceased was conducted and his body was handed over to the family members, police said.
