All the drilling or boring agencies including those of government, semi-government as well as private ones have to apply for registration to the Hydrologist, Ground Water Cell.

In the orders issued here today, District Magistrate P C Meena today directed all the owners in possession of boring machines in the district to furnish their details immediately.

The details should contain name of the owner in possession of drilling machines with his permanent and present address, details of boring machine like make and model etc.

It has been made clear in the order that unregistered boring or drilling machines will be considered as illegal.

The deadline for getting registered is July 10.

Station House Officers (SHOs) will lodge FIR against the unregistered agencies which are found involved in illegal drilling operation.

Meena has also ordered the owners in possession of boring machines or agencies to submit fortnightly their report regarding work undertaken to the Hydrologist, Gurgaon.

A strict compliance of this order should be ensured, he said.

Necessary checks will be carried out by all the concerned SHOs, BDPOs, Tehsildars and by the teams already constituted for this purpose.

The orders read that borewells can be drilled only after getting necessary approval from the district administration otherwise it will be considered illegal and strict action will be taken against the defaulter.

The order has been passed keeping in view of the deteriorating level of ground water in the district.

It is also comes after four-year-old Mahi's death on Sunday after she fell into a 70-feet-deep borewell dug illegally near Manesar where she was trapped for four days.
