The Maharashtra Government today constituted a body to oversee the rehabilitation of those displaced by land acquisition for public sector projects.
Senior state BJP leader Madhav Bhandari has been named the deputy chairman of the newly formed 'Relief and Rehabilitation Authority'.
Bhandari will also be the deputy chairman of the Rehabilitation and Reconstitution Monitoring Committee which will have seven members.
The authority and the committee will be headed by Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Chandrakant Patil, a government release said.
