The 48-day rejuvenation camp for temple elephants today concluded at Thekkampatti near Mettupalayam in the district.
During the camp, which began on December 11 last, 30 elephants, brought from various temples and mutts across Tamil Nadu, were given necessary medical check up, exercise and nutritious and herbal food besides medicinal bath.
State Food Minister R Kamaraj, also holding additional charge of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment, flagged off the return of the elephants to their respective places.
An elephant named Andal from Srirangam temple was the first one to move from the camp, officials said.
