Rel Energy to buy 250 mw to meet summer demand in Mumbai

Private discom Reliance Energy has entered into an agreement to buy 250 mw of additional power to meet peak summer demand in the city which is likely to cross 1,700 mw during the summer months.

The discom, which has over 24 lakh customers, sees the the megapolis' peak power demand to overshoot last year's 3,581 mw this summer.

Last year's peak load was 1,627 mw. In fiscal 2013, the power demand was 3,153 mw while Reliance's peak demand was 1,330 mw in the summer months April to June.

This 250 mw of additional power is over and above the existing long-term power purchase agreements for 1,262 mw, the company said.
 

"We expect our peak summer demand to cross 1,700 mw during the April-June season, while system wide load for the entire city will be above 3,581 mw. We have made provisions for 1,627 mw so far with additional PPAs in view of the extremely hot summer that the Met has forecast this year," Reliance Energy said in a statement.

Karnataka Bank to sell Bajaj Allianz General products

Karnataka Bank today entered into an agreement with Bajaj Allianz General Insurance to sell the latter's products.

"As per the tie-up, all the 747 branches of the bank will be selling the product of Bajaj Allianz," P Jayarama Bhat, managing director and chief executive of Karnataka Bank, said in a statement.

Tapan Singhel, managing director of Bajaj Allianz, said his company is looking forward to creating customised insurance solutions for the bank's customers while leveraging on the digital platforms created by both the organisations to ensure seamless insurance transactions.

Amagi Media launches online tool to measure geo-targeted ads

Amagi Media Labs, a targeted-TV advertising solutions firm, today launched an online tool to measure geo-targeted ad campaigns.

Amagi Measure is an open interface that enables the measurement of key metrics like gross rating points by matching BARC monitoring report with minute by minute channel ratings data, the company said.

The platform provides ratings to users across multiple target groups and markets. Moreover, advertisers can derive reach and frequency of their campaigns using the tool.
