Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has directed the officials to release all 171 pending electricity connections of drinking water tubewells in the state within next two weeks.
Stating this, Khattar also called for promotion of innovative methods of water conservation like placing a brick in the water tank by the people of the state.
He gave these directions during a meeting to review drinking water arrangements in the state during summer season.

He said that adequate chlorination is being ensured before supply of drinking water to the consumers.
The CM directed the officers of Irrigation Department to ensure timely filling up of the storage tanks of all the 1461 canal water based works on top priority.
He was informed said that it has been decided to launch a special campaign in urban areas, in at least one town in each district having population less than 50,000 as per census 2011.
Khattar said that during the campaign, the present status of water supply scheme and sewerage scheme with respect to number of house connections, number of sewerage connections and quantity of water being supplied daily would be compiled by the concerned Sub Divisional Engineer.
The campaign would continue for at least four days in a week but entire town would be covered before June 30, 2015.
Apart from this, a team of two persons comprising one block resources coordinator and one mechanical staff working on water supply system would be constituted who would visit each and every house of the town and collect the information.
He said that during the visit to each house, the team would pursue the owners of the house to get sanctioned water supply or sewerage connection wherever distribution pipelines or sewerage system is existing within a distance of 30 meters from the house.
