Survey engineer Deep Mondal, who was released recently after being abducted by Bru men and NLFT militants last year from Aizawl, today sought employment from the Mamata Banerjee government.

"I won't take up any assignment in the Northeast any more, but there is no problem if I am offered a job by the state government. I have written to the CM seeking her help since my family depends on me," Mondal, who was kidnapped on November 23 last year, told reporters here.

Deep, accompanied by his father Nikhil Mondal, came to the state secretariat for the second time to submit two letters to the Chief Minister and Home Secretary Basudeb Banerjee seeking employment.

Deep, however, could not meet the Chief Minister. A senior official at the CMO received his letter to CM, while he met Banerjee.
