Terror suspect Ejaz Ahmed Mirza, released on bail after his arrest in connection with a plot to kill prominent politicians and journalists in three states, today said he wanted to be reinstated in his DRDO job once he came clean of the charges against him.

Mirza, who was released from the central jail yesterday after being granted "statutory" bail by National Investigation Agency (NIA) Court, said if the DRDO did not reinstate him, he would join some other research organisation.

"I would like to be reinstated as DRDO scientist if I come clean in the terror case. But for now, I want to be with my family," he told reporters here.

He was granted bail since the NIA failed to file chargesheet against him.

Mirza alleged police physically and mentally tortured him soon after his arrest.

Two other terror suspects in the case, journalist Muthi-Ur-Rehman Siddiqui and Yusuf Nalband were set free by the NIA court on February 26, observing that there was no prosecutable evidence against them.

In all 15 persons, including Mirza, were arrested in connection with the alleged plot, which came to light in August last, while a search was on for 10 others.
