Reliance Group partners Global Goals campaign

Anil Ambani-led Reliance Group has been announced as the first Indian company to partner with the Global Goals campaign for sustainable development.

Conceived by renowned filmmaker and founder of Comic Relief Richard Curtis for the United Nations, the Global Goals campaign aims to reach 7 billion people in 7 days beginning September 26 with news of the Global Goals for Sustainable Development.

The campaign will begin today at the UN when 193 world leaders will adopt the Global Goals, a series of 17 ambitious targets to end poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and tackle climate change for everyone by 2030, The Global Goals said in a statement.
 

The telecom to entertaining Group's partnership extend to raising awareness about the new Global Goals for Sustainable Development to as many Indians as possible.

"Reliance Group will promote Global Goals related to the environment and fixing the effect of climate change such as Goal 12 Responsible Consumption and Production and Goal 13 Climate Action by integrating the campaign with its annual BIG Green Ganesha and Green Durga initiative," it said.

BIG Green Ganesha aims at creating social consciousness towards making one of India's largest and most popular festivals, ecologically sound. The campaign spanned across 15 major cities this year including Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Goa, Sholapur, Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Chennai and Mangalore among others.

Reliance Group is one of India's largest employers and will be engaging its strong 1,00,000 employee network with the Global Goals messaging. The Group will encourage its employees to share, text, tweet, email, teach, talk, watch the Global Goals and tell everyone about it.
