The people in Jammu today woke up to a pleasant weather after last night's showers brought down the minimum temperature by four notches to settle within the normal limits.
The city recorded a low of 25.6 degrees Celsius against the previous night's 30 degrees Celsius after a fresh spell of rains last night, a spokesperson of the meteorological department said.
A cloud cover also engulfed the city which had yesterday recorded a maximum temperature of 40.9 degrees Celsius 1.2 notches more than the normal during this time of the season.
The weatherman has forecast possibility of rain and thunderstorm today.
Katra, the base camp for pilgrims visiting Vaishno Devi Shrine in Reasi district, also recorded an appreciable dip in minimum temperature which settled at 22.4 degrees Celsius against the previous night's 27.5 degrees Celsius.
The town had recorded a high of 36 degrees Celsius yesterday.
