"If the Uttar Pradesh government wishes to use the name of Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti, it should found a fresh institution and then christen it after the Sufi saint," Zainul Abedin Ali Khan, the religious head of the dargarh, said in a statement here.
"If the university is renamed after Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti, it will not be a graceful thing," he said.
Keeping with the demands of Urdu, Arabic and Persian lovers, the Uttar Pradesh government is considering renaming the University.
