Religious procession accorded warm welcome

A religious procession, popularly known as 'Sangh' was accorded warm welcome on its arrival in the district early this morning.

The religious procession led by Baba Joginder Singh was started from Khadiala Sainia in Hoshiarpur and would reach border town Dera Baba Nanak where a Jor Mela will be organised in connection with Chola Sahib where historic Chola (clothes) of Guru Nanak Dev were kept placed in a Gurdwara.

Pilgrims from India and abroad in large numbers will visit the town to see the historic Chola on March 4

The 16th generation of Guru Nanak Dev would show the historic Chola to the pilgrims on March 4.
 

Meanwhile, the district administration Gurdaspur has declared a public holiday in the Dera Baba Nanak sub division on March 4. All government office, and educational institutions would remain closed.
