French auto major Renault today expanded its product range in India with the launch of all wheel drive (AWD) version of mid-sized sports utility vehicle Duster, priced between Rs 11.89 lakh and Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The company, which plans to launch two new models next year, is also targeting 5% market share in the Indian market.

The diesel-powered Duster AWD will be available in two options - RxL and RxZ, priced at Rs 11.89 lakh and Rs 12.99 lakh, respectively.

"Renault is committed to the Indian market...The Renault Duster 2WD was a runaway success in India, and we are confident that the new Renault Duster AWD will resonate with auto enthusiasts across the country," Renault India Country CEO and Managing Director Sumit Sawhney told reporters here.

Renault had first launched Duster in the country in 2012 and has sold over a lakh units so far.

Currently, the company sells Duster with both petrol and diesel engines, priced between Rs 7.86 lakh and Rs 11.91 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Commenting on company's future plans, Sawhney said Renault is building a strong runway to expand its presence in India, concentrating on both product expansion and enhancing the customer experience.

"We have strong plans for India. In the short to medium term we are eying 5% market share in the Indian market," he added.

The company is also looking to launch two new models next year. Sawhney added.

Renault India also aims to expand its dealer network to 175 outlets by the end of the year, he said.

The AWD technology in the Duster will enable the vehicle to intuitively access the road and constantly engage all wheels. The Duster AWD is powered by 1.5 dCi THP diesel engine.

The vehicle comes with various features including the eco mode, which enables less fuel consumption by up to 10% and safety features like the ABS with EBD and brake assist.
