New security check-in gates for faster and smooth passenger movement in the departure area was opened on Friday at the Lokopriyo Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati.
The renovated multiple check-in gates at the airport was inaugurated by Parliamentary standing committee on Transport Culture and Tourism member and MP L Hanumanthaiah Rao, according to a release issued by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) here.
It will reduce passenger check-in time and help in better operations of the airport with better utilisation of first floor security hold area.
The system is expected to get better once two more aerobridges get Directorate General of Civil Aviation clearance, it said.
AAI, airline and CISF officials were also present on the occasion who helped passengers in getting in through the new security area, the release added.
