The Women and Child Development Ministry is also working on a scheme, named 'SAKSHAM', to work for gender sensitisation of adolescent boys, Tirath said.
The National Action Plan for prevention of child marriage is also in progress, she said.
The WCD Ministry has also constituted a High Level Committee to holistically look into various issues concerning women.
The Union Minister hoped that the consultation would contribute substantially towards drafting the National Plan of Action for improving Child Sex Ratio in the country.
Expressing concern over the declining child sex ratio, Prime Minister had written to the state chief ministers for strengthening of the PC and PNDT Act, she said.
Her ministry has taken the lead in formulating a National Plan of Action for improving child sex ratio, she added.
The one-day consultation meeting was attended by Andhra Pradesh Women Development and Child Welfare Minister, Sunita Laxma Reddy, government officials, NGOs and other stakeholders.
The Child Sex Ratio is constantly declining since 1961 -- from 927 in 2001 to 914 in 2011, K Ratnaprabha, a senior official of the Union WCD Ministry, said.
