The central trade unions led by CITU, INTUC, BMS and others have given a two-day strike call on February 20-21 to oppose economic policies of the Congress-led UPA government. Meanwhile, CITU and other trade unions today announced that on February 21, the transport sector will be kept out of the ambit of strike as the day also marks the International Mother Tongue Day, which is celebrated with pomp and fare in West Bengal. Chakraborty also slammed the state government for using the police administration to spread propaganda to foil the strike call. "They are using police administration to spread lies. This is totally false. If they don't stop doing such things we will be forced to take legal action against the Chief secretary, who is signing such circulars," he said.
