Issacharoff said the situation in Afghanistan and Iran's stake in the war-torn country was also discussed during the talks.
On India's trade with Iran, Issacharoff said the international community has taken a number of measures in terms of cutting oil supplies from Iran in the past one year.
"India like many other responsible countries in the international community what we think is that the leverage is meant to provide significant leverage on Iran that it realises that there is a cost to continue its nuclear programme.
"We can't really say diplomacy will work with Iran. The continuation of this leverage is crucial," he said.
To a question, the Israeli diplomat said he would not want to comment on whether the P5+1 talks with Iran would yield any results.
He also said the Israeli establishment believes that Iran Revolutionary Guards have links with terrorist groups like Hizbollah and others.
