Congress spokesperson Sandip Dikshit admitted there are various opinions on the ordinance that seeks to provide more stringent laws to contain crime against women but said the measure is "well in order". At the AICC briefing, he said that Congress expects others to cooperate when the new bill to replace this ordinance is brought before Parliament. "It's a well-thought out ordinance. We hope all parties will come forward to support it," he said. Dikshit also expressed confidence that besides the ordinance, some of other recommendations of Justice Verma Committee on the issue will be also be discussed in Parliament and its various committees.
