Naqvi said during UPA-I, the government removed all such Governors where non-Congress governments were in power and replaced them with those of their choice with an aim to harrass the state governments. The BJP leader also attacked the government and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for the state of economy in the country which was going from bad to worse. "Economy under the economist Prime Minister is going from bad to worse. This government is leaving behind a legacy of economic instability and politics of corruption," Naqvi said, criticising the Prime Minister for not been able to achieve anything that he promised. He said the Prime Minister has been talking about achieving 10 per cent growth but got struck at 5 per cent and also talked of reducing prices and unemployment, whereas the two were increasing. Replying to a question on the registration of a case in Nanded against VHP leader Praveen Togadia for his alleged hate speech, the BJP leader said the law should take its own course but said the case cannot be equated with that of Akbaruddin Owaisi, "who has waged a war against the nation". Asked about whether the Ram Temple was an issue for the BJP, he said BJP stood for good governance and development of the common man. "We are committed to national issues," he said.
