Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed took exception to BJP's reported statement that the CAG does the audit of the Press Council of India headed by Katju. "Are they using the CAG as a bully to demoralise their opponents? Is there a link between CAG and BJP? This needs to be explained by the BJP," Ahmed told reporters. At the party's official briefing, Congress spokesperson Renuka Chowdhary hit out at the BJP for demanding Katju�s resignation saying "BJP is saying it because of their shortcomings. They keeps making such wild allegations." Asked about Katju walking out during a television interview, she said, I am not in a position to comment as I am not aware of the conversation.... I do not know what has really happened." She said she was not supposed to judge Katju's behaviour and it was a matter between the jorunalist and the PCI Chairman.
