Later, addressing a programme at Shibli college here, Ram Gopal Yadav, without taking names, lashed out at Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi for his proposed visit to Mahakumbh.
"Mahakumbh is a pious occasion and no such person who has got several killed through his government should go there," Yadav said attacking the media for live-telecasting Modi's interaction with students of SRCC in Delhi recently.
Referring to the issue of release of innocent youths of the district facing terror charges, he said that there are some people who do not want this to happen and so have also filed PILs in the court. "Government is doing its work in this regard", he said without elaborating.
Yadav also referred to Union Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal advocating minority university status to Shibli college and said that had the same been said by the education minister of the country it would have been a different matter altogether.
Yadav said that his government was serious towards the various problems being faced by the college and he would talk to the Chief Minister in this regard.
The SP leader hinted at chances of an early Lok Sabha election, after bringing a popular general budget as the central government was facing problems almost every day. He said that his party was ready for it.
