PROTEST
Jammu: The state unit of BJP today held demonstration protesting against the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) department for shifting some ration depots from city area.
Led by the party's Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary Constituency incharge Yudhvir Sethi and Mahila Morcha state president Priya Sethi, BJP activists raised slogans against the CAPD department and urged them to restore the old depots.
"Bring back our ration depots," the protesters said.
Terming the decision as totally "unilateral" and lacking people's consent, Sethi said: "It is causing inconvenience to thousands of consumers who have to go to other areas away from their own localities to get ration and are also adding financial burden as the poor have to pay carriage charges."
