Chandigarh: More than 1.70 lakh people have so far been benefitted by Haryana government's 'Ladli' scheme, introduced to check declining sex ratio in the state.
While stating this today, Haryana Woman and Child Development Minister Geeta Bhukkal said that the Haryana government has already incurred Rs 255.97 crore since the launch of the scheme in the year 2005-06.
Under the scheme, Rs 5,000 per year per family is being given on the birth of second daughter for five years. On maturity, Rs one lakh at current rate of interest would be paid after the second daughter attains the age of 18 years through Life Insurance Corporation.

EDUCATION

Chandigarh: In view of improving the education system in the state, the Haryana government has sought proposals from organisations capable of improving the teaching and learning outcomes in school education for specific groups.
These groups included pre-service pupil teachers, in-service teachers, teachers educators and class-rooms teaching segments including elementary and secondary or senior secondary, an official spokesperson said today.
The proposals should address one or more of the categories namely content development, teaching aids and reading material development besides others, he said.

TRAINING

Hisar(Haryana): To impart technical education to the farmers in the disciplines of agriculture, home science and livestock production, the Haryana Agricultural University (HAU) will organise vocational trainings in different districts of the state in the month of March.
According to Dr J S Dhankhar, Director of Extension Education of the University, the vocational trainings will be held at Ambala, Bhiwani, Faridabad, Jind, Karnal, Mohindergarh and Sirsa districts.
The trainings will be conducted by Krishi Vigyan Kendras of the University located in these districts.
