Punjab police arrested five persons and seized 21 Kg heroin, having street value of RPT Rs 105 crore RPT Rs 105 crore, from their possession in Bathinda.
The counter intelligence wing of the Punjab Police intercepted a gang on the intervening night of November 23 and 24, Bathinda zone IGP (counter intelligence) Dr Jitendra Jain said, adding, the contraband was being smuggled from Pakistan
21 packets of heroin, three Pakistani SIM cards, six mobile phones and Rs 1.10 lakh was seized from their possession, following which they were arrested, Jain said.

The accused have been identified as Sandeep, Inderjeet, Jagvir, Jagpal, and Amarjeet, he said.
The gang was taking the contraband to Ghadsana border in Rajasthan, he said, adding, the police is in touch with their Rajasthan counterparts to nab two persons with whom the accused used to stay in the state in Ganganagar district.
Kingpin of the gang Amlokh Singh, who is absconding, had shifted his base in Rajasthan.
