A rescued 'Sunda Slow Loris' (Nycticebus caucang) was handed over to the authorities at Itanagar Biological Park here, officials said.

The endangered animal was rescued by Boto Nilling Leyu and Byabang Laki while they were returning to Itanagar from Pasighat on January 28 and it was handed over yesterday, Zoo curator Raya Flago said.

Flago while receiving the animal encouraged the donators for their effort and concern for protection of the wildlife.

He said the slow loris is one of the endangered animals. It is a group of several omnivore species of nocturnal primates which are found in Southeast Asia and bordering areas.
