The University Grants Commission (UGC) has directed the University of Mumbai to reserve two seats for students from Jammu and Kashmir in technical colleges that have at least one course approved by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
"A circular from the University Grants Commission (UGC) has directed the University of Mumbai to reserve two seats for students from Jammu and Kashmir in technical colleges that have at least one course approved by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA)," an official spokesman said here today.
Earlier, the UGC had asked the university to reserve two seats in all its colleges, including those without NBA-approved courses, for Jammu and Kashmir students under the supernumerary quota, the spokesman said.
Technical institutes, engineering, pharmacy and architecture colleges must be approved by the All India Council of Technical Education apart from the NBA accreditation, the spokesman added.
