Jaipur Association of Resident Doctors (JARD) called off its indefinite strike on the second day today following a settlement with the medical and health department officials on its demands, including roster in duty.
The resident doctors were demanding rotation in duty as per the Medical Council of India (MCI) policy, and not to be given fixed duty in a single department during their three-year term.
Over 300 resident doctors returned to their jobs after a written agreement between JARD and administration of SMS hospital and college this afternoon, Additional Superintendent of SMS Hospital Ajit Singh said.
JARD delegation was assured that there would be systematic roster of duty in Neurology and Nephrology department, and a guide allotment norms would be changed and its draft sent to the state medical and health department for approval, he said.
