Resignation of BJD leader B C Das accepted

The resignation of senior BJD leader Bishnu Charan Das has been accepted by the Rajya Sabha Chairman, it was announced today.

Deputy Chairman P J Kurien announced that Das had yesterday resigned as a member of the Upper House and his resignation has been accepted by the Chairman Hamid Ansari with effect from March 21.

Das had resigned after his appointment as Deputy Chairman of the Odisha State Planning Board and convenor of the ruling BJD's dalit cell.
