Moderate Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq today said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's contention about resolving the Kashmir issue byproviding employment to the youth was "bizarre" and "fallacious".

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi's talk in Srinagar about resolving the problem of Kashmir by providingjobs and employment opportunities to the youth is bizarre and fallacious propaganda," Mirwaiz said in a statement here.

Modi had said that the youth of the state needed employment and assured the Mufti Sayeed-led PDP-BJP government that the Centre was standing rock solid behind it in its endeavour to restore normalcy in the state.

The Mirwaiz, who has been under house arrest since Friday, said the PM's statement was a deception that will cannot change the reality of Kashmir issue.

"Such deception will in no way change the reality ofthe Kashmir issue which Modi and his ilk know very well butwant to dodge and not admit," he said.

He also condemned the killing of a youth in Srinagar yesterday allegedly in police action.

GowharAhmad Dar, an engineering student, was hit by a tear smoke shell allegedly fired by police to disperse a stone-pelting mob near his Zainakote residence last evening.

He succumbed to injuries at a hospital.
