Musician Gavin Rossdale, who had parted ways from singer Gwen Stefani after 13 years of marriage, says he still respects his ex-wife a lot and that she is amazing.
Rossdale, 51, and Stefani, 47, who share three sons - Kingston, 10, Zuma, eight, and Apollo, two, - split in August 2015 when the No Doubt frontwoman filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.
Despite the split, Rossdale has refrained from publicly speaking ill of his ex-wife and the singer said that he "would never do that."
"(Respecting Gwen) comes real natural to me. She's amazing, so why would I think anything less? It (the divorce) obviously informs the record. It's hard to separate yourself from the most monumental thing that happens in your life if you're an artist.
When asked what he appreciates most about Stefani, he added, "Just how much she loves (the kids). We both have the same interest at heart. (Our kids') happiness. It's really simple.
