A month-long cold wave abated in Rajasthan as mercury shot up drastically at most places in the state even as Udaipur recorded the lowest temperature of 9.2 degrees, a MeT report said today.

The mercury rose by one to six degrees at most places due to passing of western disturbances and upper air cyclonic system which entered the state this weekend, the report said.

However, poor visibility due to fog in neighbouring states of Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh affected movement of trains.

About five trains under the North Western Railway were running late from 25 minutes to 3 hours, an NWR spokesman said.

Howrah-Jodhpur/Bikaner train is running 3 hours late while Gorakhpur-Ahmedabad is running late by an hour and a half, he said, adding that a train between Ganganagar and Rishikesh was rescheduled due to fog.

At other places, the minimum temperature hovered in the range of 10.3 and 14.3 degrees including Barmer, Pilani, Kota, Ajmer, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Churu, and Ganganagar.

Jaipur experienced strong winds and its minimum temperature settled at 13 degree Celsius last night.
