There was some respite from cold wave conditions in Rajasthan with the mercury rising by a few notches in most parts of the state even as Churu continued to shiver at 4.9 degrees.

The temperature in Churu last night was recorded at 4.9 degree Celsius, about 5 degrees above the normal, a MeT report said today.

With the entry of a western disturbance (WD) and upper air cyclonic system, the temperatures rose by a few notches in most parts of the desert state, the report said.

Udaipur recorded a minimum of 7 degree Celsius followed by Jodhpur 8.7, Sriganganagar 8.9, Pilani 9.3, and Barmer 10.2 degree Celsius.

Residents of Jaipur heaved a sigh of relief as the mercury shot up to 10.3 degrees last night.

The MeT department has forecast rains or drizzles in northwest Rajasthan in the next 14 hours due to passing of the WDs.
