Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today launched its 'Responsible Tourism Mission' and said waste management should be a prime consideration in any development programme.
Tourist spots and places around the state should be kept clean at all times, Vijayan said.
Stressing the importance of tourism in the economic growth of the state, he said many countries has made "good fortune" through tourism.

The Responsible Tourism Mission is all set to lead Kerala Tourism through people-friendly, local community-friendly and environment-friendly initiatives ensuring rural development, employment opportunities and women empowerment.
State Tourism minister Kadakampally Surendran and Principal Secretary Kerala Tourism, V Venu were among those present.
